Italian PLUS wine tasting

Learn about Italian wines with professional sommeliers

This Italian ‘Plus’ Course combines our highly popular General Italian intensive Course with wine tasting sessions (and possibly also combined with cooking lessons).. Getting you involved, this unique add-on programme will give you an even broader understanding of the Italian language at a deeper cultural level.

The wine tasting lessons are given by a professional wine expert / SOMMELIER, who will take you on a tour designed to broaden your knowledge regarding one of Italy’s most typical and traditional products, namely the wine.

Not only will you learn the theory of wine but, above all, how to taste wine and how to match it with various foods. The course may finish with a visit to a wine-cellar where you can learn about various processes used to turn a bunch of grapes into a bottle of wine. Some subjects:

  • Wine Making in Italy
  • Production Regions and their difference
  • How does Soil and Weather influence Wine
  • The Wine Tradition in Italy and its merge with modern production techniques
  • The sensory examination and evaluation of wine / tasting stages
  • Approach to terminology which is used to describe the range of perceivedflavors, aromas and general characteristics of a wine

Course fact file:

  • 18 years old+
  • 1-2 weeks at set starting dates
  • Level: A1+ (elementary+)
  • 20 hours of General Italian + 6 or 9 hours of wine tasting sessions per week OR Italian with a mix of Cooking & Wine i.e. + 6 hours of cooking + 3h of wine tasting
  • 9 AM-1:15 PM + wine tasting sessions confirmed on site
  • 8 persons per class for Italian – 3-12 for the wine tasting sessions
  • Starting dates: every 1st Monday of the month- other dates possible (see pricelist for details)

Fact about the courses

  • 1 or 2 weeks programme

  • duration of each daily session : 3 hours
  • 2 monthly starting dates all year round
  • 3 monthly starting dates in June, July and September
